Easily downwards the worst volume of the series. Holy y'all need a better editor, Batman! Similar, perhaps you could only run a search on the word medico you're typing into to find out how many times you apply the discussion "fetid" (hint: style besides fucking many times)? How most "vernal" (hint: every other paragraph)? What most "solar wind" considering, you know, information technology's such a super mutual phrase and just rolls right of the page--particularly when it's not existence used to depict a solar wind? I know people belittle at the use of Hands down the worst book of the series. Holy you need a better editor, Batman! I know people scoff at the use of thesauruses, simply maybe try it out C & N, because it'southward definitely not going to hurt annihilation.

And don't even get me started on the literal deus ex machina that takes place with Rosalind and the final battle. So godlike. Much magic. Wow.

There is a lot of activeness and plot, but it was still hard to connect with the characters. As well the distrust between Rosalind and Caine is getting old. Divine Hunter is the concluding installment in The Vampire'south Mage Series. Information technology takes the tally to four full-length books and a fifth title which is a prequel story. However, for those still fully endeared to this universe, as am I, and for whom the cessation is too presently there's a second serial with two full-length published books and a companion brusque story found in album called Magic & Mistletoe. I'm not aware at this stage if any side by side installment is planned to be the terminal in it's case. It's calle Divine Hunter is the last installment in The Vampire'south Mage Series. Information technology takes the tally to 4 full-length books and a fifth title which is a prequel story. All the same, for those yet fully endeared to this universe, every bit am I, and for whom the cessation is as well soon at that place'due south a second serial with two full-length published books and a companion short story found in album called Magic & Mistletoe. I'm non aware at this phase if any adjacent installment is planned to be the terminal in it'due south case. It's called Demons of Fire and Nighttime and information technology has a very individual flavour. I doubtable that in the absence of advice regarding location that it'south unique enough for you lot to only guess at the few clues I've personally picked upward on thus far. Mayhap y'all have amend ascertainment skills and volition pickup on the clues amend, you could encounter it as an interesting piffling game if you're inclined. Irrespective, it's nevertheless a proficient way to get your ready should you want to come across more from this surround.

Rosalind becomes insufficient of her back up network for a menses of fourth dimension as she's forced to submit to Drew'south plans for her. Information technology's a voluntary sacrifice in order to save lives non express to only friends she holds dear to her, including in some fashion even an insane succubus Rosalind wracked would consider more an enemy. Drew had retrieved Erish in the reanimation between books three and iv so that more demons and abominations could be newly created to expand the ranks of his and the Brotherhood's army. Imprisoned and treated vindictively, Rosalind volition spend many future nightmare-filled nights reliving events that accept identify. It comes at a time when she doesn't need anymore memories to contribute to sleepless nights. Her worst being recollections dragged up as grief-stricken reliving of her twin's final moments. As y'all know, Drew had dosed her with enchanted iron in a ploy to force her to ram the Hawthorn stake into Miranda's centre. He'd ended upward doing it himself when his tactic was averted by Cleo, her soul providing Rosalind with at least some benefits to offset the costs. The scene is still too fresh, and then information technology also appears throughout her days as well.

Some other confrontation with Drew will non be long in coming, information technology's blatantly obvious that simply either of their deaths will put a cease to the disharmonize between them. Whilst Rosalind could likely motion on to live her life without an unstoppable need to kill him, he shows no such ability to put a stop to his burning demand to exact repentance, and perhaps even her death for the perceived betrayal he considers her to take committed. Readers would know that at the to the lowest degree he considers her a demon-whore. He's so heavily involved with the Brotherhood that their desire to watch her burn is undoubtedly inseparable from his own. But with the benefit of retrospect will she ask herself the paramount question: tin can a god tin exist killed, or the more likely possibility, tin they be corralled permanently if death isn't an pick. Equally it stands, the damage she has been able to inflict has been healed in timeframes spanning from seconds to a short number of minutes.

Without the answer to this riddle none of what she's trained to practice seems to matter. The dilemma in obtaining this knowledge is all the more than difficult considering she has admission merely to 2 demigods and neither they nor their godly parents are ever going to be probable to give the answer to how they can exist killed. It'south blatantly obvious from how little about his by that he's prepared to share that Caine doesn't trust her enough to divulge said information. Her destiny, accepted by her or intended by others existence redundant, is reaching the pivotal stages where events will lead to an intersection of either becoming a heroine and saviour, or being among those who failed to finish plans that led to armageddon. She'll therefore become either famous or infamous, whether she wants information technology or not.

With the death of Miranda still so salient she'south never been more motivated to embrace her abilities, former and new. Every bit Caine points out frequently, though, she's being reckless regarding how her life volition never recover from her deportment when the fallout clears. Gods-magic continues to verbal costs from her. Sacrifices already made regarding her sanity are only a month old and they're beingness felt. The voices of the Gods frequent her mind, increasing in loudness with prolonged or frequent usage, and shaping her desires being a secondary sign. The costs are high, merely there'due south an absolute need. Unless they can come up with a workable alternative to meet their needs, or to some extent even just some other program, she doesn't perceive that a choice exists.

Conditions may have already deteriorated to the signal where the war has already been lost, a very real fear of Rosalind's. The Alliance and Drew must exist erased from existence given the irreparable impairment to the surround of Earth and the human cistron pool already made. Not to mention the number of demonic entities recreated and new abominations never before seen. The power of the vii Gods is seductive for her, merely she thankfully hasn't indulged heavily in Blodrial'south ambrosia which is among the many contributors to Drew's insanity. Blodrial'south influence is the one that gives greatest immunity to magic wielded by others on her team, though. Not beingness a demigod like Caine or his younger brother Malphas involves a hefty cost. Mortals were never meant to wield such power.

It's indicative, however, that Rosalind isn't confident that she'll live through the war. It'southward impacting heavily her willingness to go past the bespeak of sensible risks into reckless actions. The desires of the Gods who accept dominion over the blazon of power being channeled force their ain desires upon the channeler. It keeps her from heeding good advice in the way for which information technology'south given, warping sure sentiment into statements by the speaker about their perceived inadequacies regarding her ability. Information technology's a similar trend seen whenever mortals have begun using the ability of Gods-magic, and a trend in her family unit past and present; namely her parents and Drew. She is sufficiently embittered that she often fails to take suggestions how they're intended. In fairness the secrets Caine keeps from her exacerbate issues. Some skeletons have lived in the darkness and so long that they have lost the ability to be taken out of the closet.

Even if her intentions moving frontwards aren't seen by her as her destiny, they are still congruent with plans made by others which were intended to exist her destiny. Memories now arising and all of the things that could've been but never tin can, drown her thoughts and feelings in a pool so deep that a lesser may non even exist. Successful breaches of Lilinor's defences begin playing on everyone's mind regarding how susceptible to attack they are, and how vulnerable the vampire regular army is in the absence of a daywalker spell. With Miranda's murder the triumvirate is missing a 3rd crucial vessel for the second souls necessary to cast the respective spell. This continues to cause pregnant conflict in the cohesion of the groups seeking refuge and places some other strain on their chapters to win the state of war. With breaches from without and those inside who deed in ways that further their enemies' goals, Lilinor becomes like the likewise deep dead brush that requires simply a spark to get a bushfire.

The unnatural realisations made by Drew's insane conventionalities in his destiny of beingness the next godly creator is an center-opener. It makes for a rather detailed visage of his created kingdom to say the least. They work well in provoking your imagination in a splendour often but possible through fantasy. Reading and imagining the scenes played out in visual imagery combined with the notion of Angelic as it's used herein, gives me the impression of Neo and his abilities to alter the code of the Matrix. Imagine, if you will, that the casters are looking on their surroundings as though it were like looking at a boob tube screen. In that location'southward destruction and things that have happened, people injured and impairment to the environment and structures, just as a few examples nowadays in the view you take.

And so consider that with the power and command of the Angelic linguistic communication and the magic information technology creates, that having said abilities at present allows yous to spotter the black and light-green screens of the rolling code creating whatever environment Neo's friends were watching in Morpheus's send: all the monitors setup in the command room with the Matrix programming rolling downwardly the screen. To modify the reality as creators using Celestial it's similar they speak the necessary words - or the Matrix code every bit it'southward used in this illustration, of the spell that fixes what is needed. Neo tin can only encounter the lawmaking at the start, then similar the other shipmates he starts seeing what the lawmaking means to recipients. The magic herein, every bit suggested by the analogy, is like the ability to speak Angelic so that it lets Neo punch in new code on the keyboard to remake the images being looked upon.

Information technology probably wasn't portrayed well, they say a motion-picture show is worth a thousand words. Well information technology's true when information technology comes to concepts y'all picture in your caput then try to explain in words. The indicate is nevertheless that in several hundred to a grand books I've never had such an analogy of the magic come to mind, and it's been years since I watched any of The Matrix movies. Thus I'm attempting to requite credit in that Christine and Nick take written well-nigh the magic in means that non only give images, it besides gave me a visual impression of the arrangement used. Although the paramount question might be more so if that'southward in any way similar to how it was used or created. One of the great features of their books, though, is that they precipitate and so many visual images when I'm reading away.

I've loved Rosalind pretty much from twenty-four hours 1, when she was a naive iron ring wearing enemy to all who were just as much her people as the ones she fought for. The books have covered her and so well that you could probable sit downward and notarise bits and pieces about her every bit they arise, and yous'd terminate upwardly with something akin to her memoirs. Every grapheme in hindsight has had pivotal contributions, giving this serial a wide and well developed cast. In their own roles they are only as easily imagined. I accept loved the lore in this series, that'due south office of why I got such a tangible image of how information technology could exist conceptualised. The breadth of magical capacities is very wide. I especially similar the manner knowledge of Angelic has been used. Information technology paints an interesting construct of gods as creators, and why a heavenly, or divine state of war might've taken identify. It's a good alternative to it being solely virtually copulation and the cosmos of seraphim and nephilim, which is the staple of not just fantasy lore, only also religious accounts.

At that place's just so many things to enjoy that I suspect I've probably done a better accounting if yous were to expect across all my reviews by checking just the final few paragraphs. This is where I write all my opinion based reflection, as opposed to the opening which serves equally an introduction to the book. Information technology could be said that it'south like an extended blurb. If you're interested, I've included review links on the other books in this serial. The links below are to all current books non including iii for The Momento Mori Witch Trilogy, because I'm all the same to have the pleasure of reading them. There is a prequel short story which is a complimentary unpublished novella available to newsletter subscribers (chosen Shadow Mage). A simple Google search will bring upwardly a hit for C.N. Crawford on Goodreads, which is where I've posted it due to the book not being available via Amazon. Another missing review is for Fallen Fae, which is another free download. It is associated with the newest series, and so it'due south peradventure non important for the purposes herein (details available on the C.N. Crawford website).

Overall it ended okay. Not telling usa much and leaving lots of hanging threads. It seemed an precipitous catastrophe. Would have loved an Epilogue instead of them talking about starting their ain world, whatsoever that meant. I guess in the finish they beat out the bad guys, but I just never felt the characters and their relationships. The master couple spent and then much time mistreating each other, battling each other, keeping unnecessary secrets from each other and generally existence apart for 99.9% of the series that I merely couldn't experience their romance. He never told her he loved her. I remember they barely had sex twice and it wasn't memorable that I could tell. Possibly this should be sold equally a YA story. That's what it felt like. I become non wanting a romance to overcome a story, but y'all gotta make the reader experience it and intendance. That is where this series failed. Like when Rosalind found out that the humans kept by the vamps weren't existence treated well, kept warm or fed well. She did nothing. Sure gave one girl her jacket. What about the rest of the humans? She had enough ability subsequently to insist on giving them meliorate living weather condition, but she was e'er and so cocky centered that she never did. There were and so many proactive things the graphic symbol could have washed to protect, just she never did anything until she was about to die herself. She would look up and see the ward thinning, only ignore it instead of strengthening it like she could. Then she is shocked when monsters come through. All 3 mages were in Lilinor for weeks, maybe months with not one time trying the daylight spell. She just struck me as blah. Drifting through the story and reacting to what'due south thrown at her. Until her daylight monster thought, she was merely barely there. Overall, the storyline fabricated it readable, the characters made information technology barely readable. I gauge an overall rating would be three.5 stars. Information technology would be iv if the concluding book was done away with. That was useless.

What a wonderful series... and the call up I hated Rosalind in the first 2 books haha... she actually grew in the last 2 books. The story line is flop!
My only distressing point is that the chemical science between the two characters were dragged out a bit just I've noticed that this is a design with the authors C.Due north. Crawford...
I'm now don't know what to read after such a swell series.

A nice justified ending

The bad guys got a wonderful death. The battle scenes were nice and vivid with some crazy monsters that needed to be defeated. Stubborn characters FINALLY opened up showing their emotions and admitting their troubled pasts. A few more yummy sex activity scenes. And a bad ass heroine with some ridiculous powers and her inner turmoil to contain and combat everything she had within her mind.

Expert concluding instalment

Some other skilful read and the last in the vampire mage series. It was well written and seemed to go past at a quicker step than the other books , which as it was the concluding book there was a lot to fit in before the ending. The whole series has been an enjoyable read.

This book was amazing

This is 1 of the best series I've ever read... It's got awful tragedy, torture, detest, love, forgiveness, magic, insanity, and like Total of 3 sexual activity scenes. It was and so amazing to see a girl go from truly naive to goddess who kills the hell out of anyone attacking her family. It was bright. I'm and then glad I found this serial to add together to my height favorites.

I purchased Divine Hunter as part of the Vampire Mage box set. This last book was my favorite, by far. Roselind was more than take-charge and was balanced by Caine'south graphic symbol, rather than overwhelmed. Nice to see positive growth in the protagonists and excellent plotting by the author. Great tension and some unexpected surprises. The series is a expert read, and the box set a great deal. I purchased Divine Hunter as role of the Vampire Mage box set up. Heroine drive me nuts - mild spoilers

Frequently rushing in ignoring everyone effectually her, getting kidnapped, getting her throat ripped out, this was the all-time in the series imo, she supposed to be all powerful and kills the bog bad giys really easily merely then virtually gets offed by but a regular i on a hourly basis 🙄

A book in serious need of content editing. I read all the series associated with the shadow fae series because that was the first I read and I liked it.

This book is more God'due south, more jumping around, battles and magic and misunderstandings and it just goes on and on.

I'd love to see this author - these authors - tighten up the story lines and follow Sandersons laws of magic.
